Valleys, mountains, sleeping under the stars, high plateaus and an ancient Byzantine monastery. This 6 days hiking trip takes in the highest point in the Sinai and numerous points of interest on the way.

Take a route up the mountain not often used through the farms and gardens and travel the traditional way, on foot with camels!

  • Hikers should be in good physical condition, this is a demanding trip.
  • Trip not suitable for children under 15

  • Bring good walking shoes, a small bag of personal amenities including sunscreen, a warm jacket in the winter months (the mountains get cold), a sleeping bag.

Day 1

  • Depart Dahab at 7 am, drive for 25 minutes to Abu Khosheb.
  • Meet our camels and load of equipment.
  • 2-3 hours hiking to Ellige.
  • Launch break.
  • 2-3 hours hiking to Henedal.
  • Set up camp, dinner, and overnight.

  • Breakfast at 7 am.
  • Load equipment and camels
  • 2-3 hours hiking to Al-Zakkar
  • Launch break.
  • 2-3 hours hiking to Rowes Al-Amlah
  • Set up camp, dinner, and overnight.

  • Breakfast at 7 am.
  • Load equipment and camels
  • 2-3 hours hiking to Al-Kaysa
  • Launch break.
  • 2-3 hours hiking to Khelesat
  • Set up camp, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4

  • Breakfast at 7 am.
  • Load equipment and camels
  • 2-3 hours hiking to Abu Khosheb (the second)
  • Launch break.
  • 2-3 hours hiking to Al-Froush
  • Set up camp, dinner, and overnight.

Day 5

  • Breakfast at 7 am.
  • Load equipment and camels
  • 2-3 hours hiking to Al-Kroum
  • Launch
  • 1 Hour hiking to Al-Sodoud
  • Set up camp, early sleep, and dinner before getting ready to hike Mt Sinai.

Day 6

  • Sunrise hike up Mt Sinai, starting at 1 am. We take the Al-Arbayeen route, 3 hours.
  • Watch sunrise from the top of the mountains
  • Climb down taking the camel trail
  • Breakfast in the Monastery gardens
  • Visit the monastery, excluding trips that conclude on Sunday and public holidays
  • Drive back to Dahab, arrival at 12-1 midday.
